Marketing budgets that survive contact with the accounts.
A guide to selecting dental accountants and researching practice funding. Use it to prepare questions about experience, fees and responsibilities. Ampli5 has no official accountant or lender partnerships.
A practical guide
What a dental specialist does differently
A practical starting point for comparing providers, preparing questions and agreeing a clear scope of work.
| What to ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| They know the benchmarks | What a healthy practice spends on staff, lab, materials and marketing, expressed as a percentage of turnover rather than a guess. |
| They understand NHS contracts | UDA values, clawback and how contract income behaves. A general accountant will not, and it shows. |
| They plan squat cash flow | How long you will run at a loss before opening, and how much working capital you need to get through it. |
| They speak lender | Business plans presented in the form healthcare lenders expect, which affects both approval and rate. |
| They model associates and incorporation | Structure decisions that materially change what you take home. |
| They will question a marketing spend | Which is useful. If we cannot justify a budget to your accountant, it probably is not the right budget. |
What to compare
Choosing a provider in this area.

What we add
Where our side of it fits.
A budget with a rationale
We size a marketing budget against case values and capacity, in a form your accountant can sanity check.
Reporting they can use
Cost per patient and treatment value accepted, not times your advert was shown, so it can sit next to the management accounts.
Squat forecasts
What marketing costs before opening and what a realistic patient number looks like in month one.
Connected work
Where this touches your marketing.
Straight answers
Common questions.
Do you give financial advice?
No. We size marketing budgets and report on returns. Anything about tax, structure, lending or valuations comes from your accountant.
Can you talk to our accountant directly?
Gladly. It usually makes for a better budget, and it is easier than a client relaying numbers between two advisers.
What should we be spending on marketing?
It depends on your capacity, your case values and what you are trying to fill. The ROI calculator is a better starting point than a percentage rule.
