How to read it
Big numbers aren't always the good ones.
A term with 2,— searches a month that everyone bids on can be worth less to your practice than one with 90 searches from people ready to book.
What matters is demand × case value × how many of those people are actually within driving distance of your chair.
- Sample volume is how many people search that exact phrase each month
- Intent matters more — "implant cost Location pending" beats "dental implants" every time
- Case value flips the maths: 40 implant searches beat 900 whitening searches
- City totals are shared between every practice in that city, not yours alone
- Nothing here counts the people who never search — which is most aligner patients
Method. No verified research export is supplied. Real figures need a source, date range and location settings. Search counts include repeat searches and close variants; they are not unique patients.
What it means for your practice
Demand tells you what's possible. It doesn't tell you what you'll get.
If 300 people a month search for implants in your city and there are twelve practices advertising, the question isn't whether demand exists. It's whether you can be one of the three they actually see.
High demand, high competition. London, Manchester, Birmingham. Plenty of searches, expensive clicks, and SEO takes longer. Worth it because case values are higher too.
Low demand, low competition. Market towns and suburbs. Fewer searches, but you can own the map listing and pay a fraction per click. Often the better return.
The number that isn't here. Every table like this misses demand that hasn't reached Google yet — the person who's unhappy with her smile but hasn't started searching. That's what Meta campaigns reach, and it's usually bigger than the search demand.
Your existing list. Before any of this, most practices have hundreds of patients already on file who'd say yes to treatment nobody's ever offered them.
